Every one of these neat and stylish twin-cylinder four-strokes is a class leader, with a host of advantages that will delight any owner.
Among them are driving comfort, strong performance, smoothness, fuel economy, reduced exhaust emissions, and tremendous role versatility, all of which blend to make these outboards perfect for commercial, professional or leisure use.
The single-lever steering friction adjustment (optional on H models) and options like the high-output alternator and compact Power Trim and Tilt system on the F20 and F25 have already proved very popular.

Widening the performance powerband
All four engines in this powerband feature the most advanced 16-valve, four-stroke technology and Dual Overhead Camshaft (DOHC) configuration, whilst the cutting-edge designs for intake and exhaust systems have further improved combustion efficiency, enabling you to attain very high speeds smoothly, cleanly and economically, with total reliability.
A major contributing factor to the incredible performance of these engines, is Yamaha's unique Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) system, in which a micro-computer analyses and adjusts the fuel/air mixture to perfection under all running conditions.
The all-new F80 and F100 models both feature this advanced system, which they share with the F115 and F150.
So starting has never been faster, acceleration has never been smoother, fuel economy has never been better, nor exhaust emissions cleaner.

The big muscles from Yamaha
The introduction of the Yamaha F200/F225 series was universally acknowledged as a landmark in outboard history; they were simply the most powerful and technically advanced four-stroke outboards the world had ever seen … until the launch of our latest flagship model, the awesome F250, which is, quite simply, the most powerful Yamaha Four Stroke ever!
From an owner's viewpoint, the main appeal of these engines will be the incredible combination of lightness and compact design, which makes them comparable in weight and size to a two-stroke in the same power class!
At the heart of the engine (a 60° V6 24-valve with dual Double Overhead Camshafts) is an 'in-bank' exhaust system. Another world first for Yamaha, this outstanding engineering concept reverses the conventional layout of the intake and exhaust systems, providing astonishing compactness.
In addition to phenomenal power, performance and acceleration, these new engineering concepts have also delivered three of the cleanest, quietest, smoothest and most sophisticated outboards ever to hit the water. Responsible for these advantages are Yamaha's unique electronic fuel injection (incorporating a new 'long intake' system that boosts torque in the low and middle speed ranges), a microprocessor ECU, blow-by gas re-burning technology, and special noise reduction systems.
On-water reliability, in combination with durability, are probably the features most appreciated by Yamaha owners around the world, and the sophisticated diagnosis system developed by Yamaha for all its latest outboards is also a feature of these models.
A simple plug-in link to a personal computer displays a running history of engine use and performance, making easy work of maintenance and servicing. In the unlikely event of a problem, a comforting fail-safe system keeps the engine running at reduced 'get you home' speed.

FT8 - FT9.9 - FT25 - FT50 - FT60

When you need power, driving force and manoeuvrability, rather than out-and-out speed, these special FT High Thrust models are the perfect answer.
These are all special versions of our latest-technology four-stroke engines, setting new standards in performance, and at the same time reducing noise, vibration and fuel consumption to unprecedented levels.
For displacement boats, sailboats, fishing and work boats, there simply couldn’t be a better choice.
Yamaha’s patented Dual-Thrust propeller on the FT8, FT9.9 and FT25 provides full thrust in both forward and reverse, a feature which, when compared to conventional models, allows effortless manoeuvrability with impressive power against the water.
On the FT50 and FT60, a large diameter propeller and special gear ratio is used to similar effect. Both the FT50 and FT60 engines are all-new for 2005, and feature the latest-technology Yamaha electronic fuel injection system (EFI) for clean, economical and reliable performance.
Another special benefit is the high-output charging system, designed to keep batteries topped up, even on long, leisurely cruising or fishing trips, when the engine may need to run at low rpm for long periods.
