Fletcher was established in the late 1950’s and remains one of the few volume-producing boat companies in the UK. As a ‘Boutique Boat Builder’, we can offer you a high level of personal service, so you get exactly what you expect from your boat.

Built in Britain, you can actually come to the factory and see your boat being built! Almost everything is produced in-house or sourced locally, meaning spares are readily available and if you require a repair this can be carried out in our factory workshop. We offer a comprehensive warranty, so in the unlikely event of a problem, you know that any issues will be attended to in a prompt and professional manner.

The Fletcher Difference

All Fletchers are hand-layed, as we feel this produces a better boat and enables us to take advantage of the best available fibreglass technology. Mass produced boats are commonly spray-layed, relying on building up a bulk of chopped strand matt to provide hull strength.

At Fletcher we hand-apply two gel coats and back this up with a layer of light matt. This is left to cure before the rest of the lay-up continues, and we then utilise a variety of matts, from multi-directional chopped strand matt to bi-directional woven silks to complete the lay-up process. Woven silks are used to provide strength in key areas subject to higher stress, such as the keel and chines of the boat. The lay-up is further supplemented with core matt, which adds bulk but little weight to the overall lay up. The end result is a mirror like finish, and a hull that is lighter and stiffer than many of its rivals.
